Molding my army

One of these days I'll figure out how to get this ap to my my photos in in the order I want.

Meh.

Last weekend I made a 3D mini moonkin hatchling. About and inch across and 2 inches tall. Maybe the weekend before last actually? I don't remember now. =/

At any rate a friend like the little guy so much she suggested that I make a mold so that I can easily make copies for the 4 main color variations. She gave me a link to a store that sells little silicon mold making...thingies (I'll post it later) and so I got them in the mail and made my mold and can now start my moonkin hatchling army!!

The color variations will be tawny/brown, plum/grey, dark red/black and dark grey(dusty brown?)/lighter grey for Tauren, night elves, trolls and worgen.

I might remove the top most flares on the head IF I put the antlers on, all moonkin should have the superior horns like Tauren, but I'm not sure, I like the flares the way they are.

I should try to sell them on etsy...

edit: rearranged the images into the correct order.

it's bee awhile for her

I came up with my Atlas in high school I used to have a huge photoshop file of almost all of the art I'd done former. Sadly I think I never came off my first mac and is thus lost. =/

I'm not too broken up though cause some of the originals were...i'll say god awful and that's putting it nicely. ^_^;;

So, this is the new file:
top row is Atlas in her standard fuku design that i came up with in high school, nothing too flashy, more subdued colors to show that she's a moon and not a major planet. I originally tried to keep vaguely similar to Saturn's design to show that Atlas was one of her moons.

the middle row:
The first one (on the left) was for a forum based rp I was in where Atlas needed to go either a bit crazy, or very dark. yes, she really is holding a blue skull, you don't even want to know how much blue berry coolaid that took. the other 3 are for the first re-design I did for her fuku. the last pic in this row is a stole pose from one of the sailor moon coloring book pages that are online. someone asked me to make Atlas look more official...how much more official can you get then going over a coloring book page?

the last 2 are 2 more costume re-designs from last year and just this week. Not really sure if i want to go back to the original costume style or what, but it was fun to come up with the re-designs anyway.

I know of at least one person that likes the original design best, and I do have a fondness for it, but it's still fun to see what else I can come up with for Atlas to wear. =D

Haunted tree

Back in January when the new season of the Syfy channels "Face Off" started I was inspired to drew the haunted tree. Their first major challenge was to redesign everyone but Dorothy from the wizard of oz.
I had been attempting to do the scarecrow but ended up with a rather irate looking ent instead.

Fast forward about a month and a half to when I started making stamps and cutting linoleum again and a friend suggested I do my haunted tree, and so I finally did.

I'm off to go paint some sculpey things I baked yesterday while I wait for the cable man to show up.

Print and color

Here is a Bristol page of everything I have either on linoleum or on the pink speedy cut blocks.

Tomorrow is a painting day for the sculpey things I baked today. Couldn't paint as my nieces were here and if I'm doing art stuffs they have to be right next to me the entire time. It's cute really, but dangerous when I have an xacto knife or some other blade out that I didn't get put away fast enough before they raced up. =/

Ah well, painting day tomorrow!!

My day off

So I had the rare monday off today. I painted and sprayed down things I made with sculpey clay and cut out a "mutant & proud" stamp.

Wish I'd changed the claw color on the square one before I'd sprayed it down. Ah well, next time.

Printing

So, i've scanned in some of the printing I did earlier in the week when i called out of work and switch my day off so that it wouldn't count against me. Here is what I did + one I did today:

The top print was done some time in middle school 92 and 95, I found it again while i was looking for my animations to see if I could swap out medium clamps for the large ones I knew where holding them together.
I decided that I
wanted to re-do the design to see if I could do it better. Thus the bottom one was done on Speedball speedy-carve.
I changed the design by not having the ears folded back, having a larger eye area, and having one paw up instead of all four (8?) down. I also added the paw prints in the corners so that when i printed it the paper would have something to rest on in those places and wouldn't bend or do strange things, since, you know, it's been 2/3s-ish of my life since i've done any printing.
When I did the sketch for this I only drew one cat and then scanned it into photoshop and duplicated the layer and flipped it so that I could get a better symmetry with both cats.

My initials are done on a 2"x1"x1" gum eraser tipped onto the 1"x1" side.

the Moonkin I carved from speedball speedy-carve and the hatchling i cut from a gum eraser.

It was family portrait day. =D

Sadly too much ink on the brayer. The paper really is yellow and should have a kind of cloudy appearance, but my printer told me no for that and no amount of fiddling in photoshop could bring it out w/o making the prints look odd.
I even cut my initials into the end of a gum eraser so that i could have a stamp for them too. i'm a dork some times. ...why are you all looking at me like that?!

My Moonkin hatchling stamp now complete with a flower...a kind of crazy flower. o.O

For those that have seen the moonkin hatchling in WoW the flower with it will be obvious, but for those that don't play, the hatchling with randomly cast a "spell" and a flower will grow in front of it.

I'm convinced it's trying to teach itself how to summon Treants like the player moon kin can do.

Hang in there, Boomy! You'll be summon your own baby Treants in no time!!
